Christy began her love affair with animals at a young age, starting with the family dog, a cocker spaniel named Delilah. It was with Delilah that she learned the importance of a grooming regimen including gentle brushing & fun bath times.

Her experience broadened when she attended Girl Scout camp and learned about the care and grooming of horses. The camp taught her how to handle animals larger than her and the kind of gentle strength needed to clean hoofs and brush out manes, but also gave her a sense of peace while working with the animals. Little did she know that only 10 years in the future she would be taking her training further as a grooming assistant and owner of her own “miniature horse,” her Great Dane, Penny Lane.
In 2006, Christy took a job at a major pet supply chain (Petco) in Shorewood, IL. At the time her only intention was to pay bills and keep food on the table, but once again the appeal of working hands-on with animals began to consume her. After relocating to St. Louis in the summer of 2007, she sought out a smaller, more intimate pet boutique to hone her skill as an aspiring canine cosmetologist and found a home in Four Muddy Paws and a mentor in Crystal Rolfe. Since then she has displayed a natural gift at styling and is a full fledged pet stylist at Four Muddy Paws. She would love to meet you!
Jamie Kelly
Jamie graduated from The Tom Rose School of Grooming after working as a bather/brusher for a year at Kennelwood in 1996. She is a certified All Breed Pet Stylist.
For 12 years she worked for Virginia Book, a wonderful groomer/business owner. Her specialty is grooming fearful/nervous/hard to handle dogs. She applies what she learned as a certified positive reinforcement trainer to help calm them and make their grooming experience as pleasant as possible. Jamie strives to have her grooming dogs finished and back to the owner within 4 hours but sometimes that’s not possible because she does not rush while grooming, it makes the dogs nervous and fearful. Jamie received an award from St Louie Tail’s Magazine in 2009 for being one of the Reader’s Choice’s most popular groomers in St. Louis. Jamie is also deeply involved in animal rescue. She volunteers at Stray Rescue’s shelter on 18th St. once a week, fosters dogs and hold adoption events for Gateway Pet Guardians. She has been awarded “Foster of the Year” for the last three years in a row. She currently has three foster dogs living with her own five dogs. Jamie enjoys fostering feral dogs and rehabilitating them. She loves watching them transform from fearful and sickly to affectionate, happy and healthy dogs ready to go on to their forever homes. Jamie also co-owns and operates a small pet service business, Lucky Dog Pet Services, LLC with her roommate and friend Virgil. They offer pet sitting and private in-home certified positive reinforcement training. You can reach Lucky Dog at 314-623-9879 or e-mail jamiekelly@sbcglobal.net. Jamie works on Sundays and Mondays and also fills in when Christy or Crystal need a day off. She’s looking forward to meeting you and making your dogs look and feel great!
