Four Muddy Paws is excited to announce its induction in the inaugural class of Business of Pride Awards honorees, sponsored by The St. Louis Business Journal, celebrating both LGBTQ+ leaders and allies who are successful in their careers, active in their communities, and are advocates for inclusion and equality.
We are honored to be among the inaugural class of honorees in the St Louis Business Magazine Business of Pride Awards. We admire each of our fellow honorees and we’re proud to be among these individuals and companies making a difference in our LGBTQ+ community.
Growing up in the ’60s and 70’s we didn’t have any true LGBTQ+ role models other than what we would see through the caricatures presented in the media. We also didn’t know of any businesses that shared our values of the LGBTQ+ community.
We recognize our unique position in both serving our dog and cat companions and the people who love them. We believe that every pet and every individual deserves to thrive. We believe that each business has a social responsibility to give back to our communities and we look for opportunities where we can support our LGBTQ+ family and celebrate the unique expressions that each of us brings to the world.
Four Muddy Paws was founded with a sense of justice for all, both for our animal companions and for our people and we’re privileged to be able to both raise awareness and give back to both our animal rescue and LGBTQ+ communities. We strive to have our store teams reflect the diversity of our neighborhoods.
Giving back is part of who we are both as individuals and as a company. Whether it’s working toward marriage equality, non-discrimination laws, transgendered rights, supporting those with HIV/AIDS and their pets and reaching out with support when our community is attacked like it was during the Pulse Nightclub massacre.
We’re thankful for the support of our city and of our store teams as we work together toward justice and equality for everyone, including our four-legged, three-legged and two-legged companions.
We, and our fellow honorees, will be profiled in the June 18 issue of the Business Journal, and you can join us virtually to celebrate our inaugural Business of Pride honorees on June 24 at 2 p.m.
